Optics / Photonics - Since 1968 LRA has specialized in recruitment and placement of optical and photonics oriented professionals. LRA has been providing its services to professionals and professional organizations in all aspects of Optics/Photonics since that time. LRA has been working with the pioneering firms in Photonics from the days of the first spaceborne optical systems, instant photography and imaging, and the earliest lasers, fiber optic and biomedical applications of Optics and Photonics to the latest fiber optic communication components and systems. As these technologies have advanced, so has LRA's record of accomplishment and experience advanced. Photonics is not a fad, or a hot area for LRA, it is our commitment. LRA has successfully recruited professionals and assisted those same professionals who work in all aspects of Optics and Photonics whether it is Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing. LRA has found professionals who contribute to Photonics from different disciplines including Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software, Imaging, Solid State/Quantum Electronics to name a few. Specific areas where LRA's expertise can be brought to bear to solve your organization's critical staffing requirements or to assist you, the professional, with career advancement include: Optical Engineering: including design and development of commercial, military components and systems, for applications including: metrology, biomedical, military, sensing, industrial, imaging, machine vision, and communication. LRA has successfully recruited and assisted design, development, test, research oriented professionals at all levels from Jr. Engineer to Vice President of Engineering Optical Manufacturing: including fabrication
of optical components, thin film coating. Fiber Optics/ Telecom, non-Telecom: LRA
has an extensive track record in non-imaging, and imaging fiber optics.
LRA has successfully worked for client organizations, and candidates working
with passive and active devices including: Laser: LRA has grown up in the laser business. We helped staff pioneering organizations that developed gas, ion, excimer, solid-state, and more recently semiconductor lasers. In the 1970's and early 1980's technology drove the market. More recently the market drives technology. LRA has helped staff organizations and helped advance professionals' careers in laser technology in such applications as: industrial processing: cutting, welding, drilling, scribing, etching, memory repair, lithography. Also in areas such as biomedical (dermatological, surgical, diagnostic/sensing), military, telecommunications, display, entertainment. If you design it, test it, sell it, service it, research and develop it, or manufacture it, LRA can help. Optoelectronics: Optoelectronics might be a more popular industry buzz-word because of optical communications, but LRA has been involved with these devices and device processing technologies for more than 20 years. LRA helped staff organizations involved in Infrared Detector technology, photodiodes, APD's, LED's, acousto-optic devices, and many others from II-VI, to III-V, laser diodes, to VCSEL's LRA has helped staff fab/foundries, found R&D / Device Scientists, Test/Characterization professionals, and Equipment Engineers / Operators. LRA understands device processing and development. Imaging / Display Technologies: LRA grew up in the world of silver-halide photographic and CRT tube based display / camera systems technology. We have been a part of the evolution toward CCD and CID and other electronic/digital imaging technologies. We have worked in the visual to far infrared with camera technologies for sensing, detection, machine vision, inspection, biomedical diagnostics. We have helped our clients not only with the Optical/Imaging side, but also the corresponding signal processing, electronics, and software. If your technology is on the displays side, LRA understands your technologies too. Whether they are CRT's or LCD's, or AMLCD's, FED's, holographic, heads up, or some other display technology, we have been there, from the device side to the systems side to integration and test. LRA sees your display needs in all light conditions. Electro Optics: Spectrometers, Machine
Vision Systems, Infrared Sensing and Detection Systems, Industrial Laser
Processing systems, free space communication systems, Heads up Displays,
these are but a few example of "electro-optical" systems. When you talk to someone at LRA about Optics and Photonics you can be assured that you are not talking to someone who recently jumped on the Photonics bandwagon. You are talking to experienced professionals who have been working with professionals and organizations such as yourself and your organization since 1968. LRA helped staff up those pioneering companies where the laser systems were room sized and beyond, and the spaceborne camera system ejected its spent cartridge that parachuted to earth for retrieval. We were there then and we are here now with the laser or MEMs device that is on a chip, and the camera that sends its data to a satellite, or the laser that works miracles on your body or communicating data thousands of miles. Hardware / Software Since 1968 LRA has specialized in recruitment and placement of high technology professionals. LRA has been providing its services to professionals and professional organizations in the high tech community since that time. LRA has successfully worked with numerous high tech clients to satisfy their difficult and most challenging staffing needs. LRA has successfully recruited for many diverse client organizations, ranging from younger emerging telecomm, internet, software and electronics organizations to more established Fortune 500 companies in the commercial and aerospace marketplace. Specific areas where LRA can provide career and staffing assistance are: Electronics / Hardware Design: Circuit (Analog and Digital) design, board level design. Design of electronic circuitry for devices, subsystems and systems, such as computers, peripherals, communications including video, RF, fiber optics and instrumentation. Also, Semiconductor design and development (ICs, ASIC, VLSI) Hardware Design Military Equipment: Engineers who design defense and aerospace electronic circuits, equipment and systems in accordance with military / government standards. Includes: Radar, RF, MMIC, Infrared, Missile Guidance, Cockpit Displays. These systems could be ground, air, space or sea based systems. Systems Engineering: This is the engineer who brings everything together in order to get a product ready for manufacturing and then delivery. Typically they begin with an idea, requirements analysis and definition and coordinate with the hardware and software teams to bring all pieces together into one working system. Test Engineering: All of the above hardware needs to be tested both individually (to component level) and then as a complete system. LRA has extensive experience recruiting Test Engineers and Test Development Engineers. Software DSP (Digital Signal Processing): Includes image processing, data acquisition Electronics and/or Software data acquisition, instrumentation or testing. Also engineering scientific data analysis, data reduction, data and video compression systems. LRA has experience with your application. Software Defense / Aerospace: Aerospace computer systems, digital, radar and sonar control systems. Also military software: avionics, command and control, image and signal processing, simulation, embedded computer systems, Infrared, Countermeasures, Navigation and Guidance, trajectory analysis. LRA has recruited entry level (junior engineers) to Project Lead to Department Managers for more than 30 years (nationwide). Software Firmware / Microcode Development: These candidates are typically employed by computer or computer based systems manufacturers or by OEMs of disk drives, printers or other types of hardware which interface with computers. This includes software for: microcode, firmware, I/O Drivers, Controllers and Peripheral Control software which controls peripherals and other HW devices. Software Development / Engineering: LRA knows software! Developers and designers, architects working on Windows platforms (NT, 2000, 98, etc.), Unix or Linux environments. Data/Telecommunications software products, typically at protocol level such as SNA, FDDI, TCP/IP, etc. Software Graphics, GUI, 3D, web based or animation design and developers. High level software architects and operating systems development to include: compilers, tools, drivers, etc. LRA has also successfully recruited Software Quality Assurance professionals who ensure that the above products are error and bug free and actually perform the intended function. As you can see, when it comes to Hardware/Software, LRA has experience,
knowledge and a track record of accomplishment in hardware, software and
electronics disciplines. You are talking with experienced professionals
who have been working with professionals and organizations such as yourself
and your organization for more than 30 years. LRA is committed to providing
you, the individual, with valuable career advice and opportunities for
career growth. Just as we are committed to providing the highest level
of professional service to your organization. LRA - committed to Photonics Organizations and Professionals since
